songs in movies

Nowadays in movies there are many unpleasant songs and irrelevant videos for them  haha. first of all dont understand the concept of songs in movies. i feel it is very unnecessary (in most places)  for songs in between the movie and it feels so stupid to see people dancing in deserts and islands and various places with no connection with the previous scene in the movie.

Most things are so cliche about the songs, mainly the location. most of the songs in kollywood, tollywood, Bollywood are in some famous places, foreign islands, scenic venues or desserts etc.
its so foolish to be sitting in the theater watching the heroines or heroes dance on the sand or run across here and there in the place. i personally feel that Indian cinema can limit its song insertions in movies like in the Hollywood industry and that it wouldn't be disturbing in between the movies.
But there are always exceptions, there are so many many good songs and have become big hit numbers, but in current cinema i feel that the songs are becoming more and more boring and repetitive.

Apart from this, nowadays the music directors have started to compose repetitive tunes, there is no quality in music. the song qualities have become very cheap and in the rhythemic aspects also.. the folk songs have become all chorus and unpleasant..

this is my view of the current situation in cinema :)

deivathirumagal

Deivathirumagal is a movie that's very emotional and close to heart. It depicts the never ending love between a father and daughter.. this is one of my most favourite movies. The director has very beautifully captured the essence of the relationship. also the screenplay and cinematography is simply superb. Though i didnt watch this movie in the theatre , it never failed to communicate the emotion behind. it litreally left me in tears.. most importantly, for any movie that is sensitive and sentimental the background music scores must give us goosebumps .. in this movie, the songs and the scores are so beautifully composed.. even today when i hear the music, i get the same feelings that i got when i first watched it.

I am personally very attached to my father , and hence this movie made a lot of sense. My dad still treats me like a small kid.. he does anything and everything for me like from feeding me food to tying my shoe lace..etc ( only when theres a need obv lol) . even today, i sleep in my fathers arm and thats where i feel all the warmth, comfort and safety. so the scenes where actor vikram cuddled and played with his daughter, reminds me of my own father. So this movie has always been special to me and i always felt the connection..

this is my view on the film deivathirumagal :)

36 vayadhinile

A film by Roshan Andrews inspires women to achieve even in their middle-age. It show that women are capable of doing anything other than household work. This movie inspires all the middle-aged women to achieve something in life and not be mundane.

Middle-aged women are treated as someone who’s incapable of anything intellectual and who doesn't know anything beyond buying vegetables and deciding every meal’s menu.   Women who achieve in their young age get married and downcasted by their family.  Every middle aged women should ask themselves this question "Who decides the expiry date of a woman’s dreams?"

Andrrews’ filmremind us that there can still be women-centric films in Tamil cinema. Also, focus on women’s issues doesn't mean a film has to be heavy. 36 Vayadhinile is feel-good, inspirational and gives you hope that women can still conquer all – including outdated clichés in cinema.

Taare Zameen Par

Taare Zameen Par by Mohithaa
The film portrays a strong and important message through culture, religion, and race. The title of the film means 'Stars upon the ground'.
The director Aamir Khan uses this metaphor to enlighten audiences of the idea that children are like stars in the world, and that every child is special in his or her own way. Unlike other film, Taare Zameen Par is not an entertainer but rather an eye opener.
This film touches upon the social disorder. Parents are constantly pressuring the children to excel in all areas of life. Therefore no one has patience towards slow learners. Everyone is required to join the rat race and win it too.
The film is about a eight-year-old Ishaan, who suffers from dyslexia. He fails in his exams. Despite this, he has inclination towards art and paintings. His parents and teachers fail to realize it. Fortunately a new art teacher in his boarding school realizes his potential and supports him in all aspects.
The theme of the film is that every child is specail, thus used effectively to express individuality. This film deserves five star because it is the first motion picture that made everyone cry.

Highway

Highway -- review by Mohithaa
Highway is a film by Imtiaz Ali.
Different with brilliant cinematography and very catchy music. This film definitely instils and revives the indispensable travel bug.
There are shots in the film which make you feel good about being free and how would it be if you were given the freedom of wandering aimlessly, doing random countryside things.
This was the first film of Alia Bhatt and she acted well. The rich and young South-Delhi girl character potrayed by her is very impressive. Randeep Hooda showed a strong and believable Haryanvi- Rajasthani character with the angry-young-man face that the was.
One of the best aspect of the film was the plantonic relationship between Alia and Randeep.
Though the film's story is not as impressive (in terms of a realistic story) as is the love for travel. Aimless and beautiful, makes us want to hit the road.
The end of the film is 'bittersweet' - it will leave us laughing,it will leave us crying,it will leave us mesmerized.

Srinivasa kalyanam

Srinivasa kalyanam is a family entertainer. It teaches the younger generation about traditional telugu weddings. It is important for us to learn about the scientific reasons behind every ritual. The movie has some preachy dialogues about sampradayalu and the importance of tradition in marriages and weddings. The film also seems to have no qualms so far to fat-shame.

This will be an entertaining ride for the audience who love to see romantic and simple movies which can lighten up your heart. The importance given to tradition and the elders of the family, the throwback to the beauty of villages, the extolling of the virtues of being a good Samaritan/a good family man/a good person. What one cannot find in this version though is the charm and the tone of the former.it shows is the importance of relationship with others.it teaches us that if we help people in their desparate times they will be there with us at our happy and desparate times.

While the former was a suggestion for the younger generation, this is more aggressive, almost didactic, preaching from beginning to end as to what the ideal life is.

the importance of marriage is underlined since the time of Lord Rama and Krishna.
Filled with old-school tropes and some feel-good moments, 'Srinivasa Kalyanam' is a mixed bag so far.
All in all, SrinivasaKalyanam preaches tradition but at the expense of everything else that is seen as ‘wrong’.

LIFE OF PI

Life Of Pi - review by Mohithaa

'Life of Pi' film revolves around a young Indian boy Pi's experience on a lifeboat with a ferocious Tiger in the middle of Pacific ocean, for months. Director Ang Lee, along with his eam provided us with a fabulous visuals, from the opening till the climatic sequence. The film also touched upon hope, faith, and perserverance. The film is much about Pi's self discovery and his bonding with the tiger. Performances are nice and they give life to the film. The actor's performance is truly applause worthy and he manages to get everything right, be it the dialogue, expression, body language. Life of Pi is a wonderful story about the triumph of human spirit. The ending was quite ordianry. Anyhow the film is worth watching for the actor, Ang Lee the visuals and the Bengal Tiger.
