Srinivasa kalyanam is a family entertainer. It teaches the younger generation about traditional telugu weddings. It is important for us to learn about the scientific reasons behind every ritual. The movie has some preachy dialogues about sampradayalu and the importance of tradition in marriages and weddings. The film also seems to have no qualms so far to fat-shame.
This will be an entertaining ride for the audience who love to see romantic and simple movies which can lighten up your heart.The importance given to tradition and the elders of the family, the throwback to the beauty of villages, the extolling of the virtues of being a good Samaritan/a good family man/a good person. What one cannot find in this version though is the charm and the tone of the former.it shows is the importance of relationship with others.it teaches us that if we help people in their desparate times they will be there with us at our happy and desparate times.
While the former was a suggestion for the younger generation, this is more aggressive, almost didactic, preaching from beginning to end as to what the ideal life is.
the importance of marriage is underlined since the time of Lord Rama and Krishna.
Filled with old-school tropes and some feel-good moments, 'Srinivasa Kalyanam' is a mixed bag so far.
All in all, SrinivasaKalyanam preaches tradition but at the expense of everything else that is seen as ‘wrong’.-naeha
